Shinedown's bassist has stepped away from the band's headlining North American tour, which runs from mid-July through late August across multiple cities. He disclosed through social media that he experienced a significant mental health crisis several weeks ago and determined that touring would be inadvisable whilst managing his recovery.

The musician is currently undergoing transcranial magnetic stimulation therapy at a South Carolina medical facility for depression treatment. Though he reports feeling improved, he remains uncertain about when he might resume touring responsibilities. He emphasised that choosing transparency about his absence, rather than quietly disappearing, aligned with his and the band's long-standing stance on normalising mental health discussions.
