Shure has released the MV6 Gen 2, an updated USB microphone designed to give creators and gamers more control over their audio based on user feedback. The new model introduces significantly enhanced software features alongside aesthetic and practical design improvements, including a new white finish, longer cable and better vibration reduction. The microphone is available from 30 September for $169, positioning itself as a compelling alternative to competing products in the market.

The MV6 Gen 2's key improvements centre on user control over automated audio features. Users can now adjust how prominently their voice appears in the mix, how quickly the microphone responds to volume changes, and how aggressively the real-time denoiser filters background noise such as fans and keyboards. The microphone offers customisable EQ settings and presets tailored for speech, singing and instruments, all accessible through Shure's free Motiv app. The device is compatible across platforms—Mac, PC and Android via USB-C, as well as iPhone and iPad through Apple MFi certification—making it versatile for various content creators and setups.
