Silent Hill: Townfall’s new gameplay trailer quietly confirms how long its PS5 exclusivity will last

Eurogamer · 2 hours ago

A new gameplay trailer for Silent Hill: Townfall has revealed over 18 minutes of first-look footage while also quietly confirming how long the game will remain a PlayStation 5 console exclusive. Small print at the end of the trailer states that the game, already confirmed for PC, will not appear on other consoles until at least six months after launch, effectively setting a rough window for a possible Xbox Series X/S or Nintendo Switch 2 release. This matters for players deciding which platform to buy the game on, and gives a clearer picture of Konami's staggered release strategy for the franchise.

The trailer follows protagonist Simon Ordell through the fog-covered Shorefront area of the fictional Scottish island of St. Amelia, showing exploration, item collection and encounters with monsters, without spoiling major plot points. Townfall is developed by Screen Burn Interactive (formerly No Code) and published by Konami and Annapurna Interactive, and is notable as the first mainline Silent Hill title told entirely in first-person. It launches on PC and PS5 on 24th September, meaning other platforms could follow from around March 2027, as part of Konami's wider 2022-announced revival of the Silent Hill series.
