Explained simply
Silica is a science-fiction strategy and shooting game set on the planet Baltarus, where two human factions are at war over a valuable resource. Both sides also face attacks from giant alien creatures.
Players can take part as a soldier, fighting on foot with other players, or direct units from a wider view as a commander. The game’s mix of direct combat and battlefield planning connects it to two familiar types of game: first-person shooters and real-time strategy games.
Bohemia Interactive is the publisher, and developer Martin Melichárek created the game. Its setting and opposing human forces provide the backdrop for a story about the war on Baltarus.
