Alexandros Avranas, winner of the Venice Film Festival’s Silver Lion for directing “Miss Violence”, is directing a Greek adaptation of Globoplay’s successful series “The Others”. Already in production, the project is part of a format-sales agreement between Greece’s Alpha TV and Brazil’s Globo, and centres on two neighbouring couples whose sons’ fight escalates into a wider conflict, highlighting the consequences of poor communication.

Produced by Primavisione, the adaptation stars Maria Nafpliotou, Charis Fragulis, Nikos Psarras and Paschalis Terzis. The original series, created by Lucas Paraizo, premiered its third Brazilian season this year and has become one of Globoplay’s biggest successes; Paraizo’s earlier drama “Under Pressure” was sold to more than 60 countries. Greece will also receive a local adaptation of Globo’s telenovela “All The Flowers”, reinforcing the Brazilian company’s international formats strategy.
