Oscilloscope Laboratories has acquired North American rights to *Bagworm*, a genre film marking director Oliver Bernsen’s feature debut and written by Henry Bernsen. The deal matters because it gives the film a confirmed route to cinemas in North America after festival exposure and early acclaim, signalling growing distributor confidence in the project. The story centres on a troubled hammer salesman whose injury appears to trigger either a personal breakdown or a wider collapse, framing the film as a psychological horror with social commentary.

The film premiered at the 2025 Sitges Film Festival, where it won the Panorama Section Audience Award, and later had its North American premiere in the Visions section at SXSW Film & TV Festival. It is due to screen next at the Fantasia International Film Festival before a planned theatrical release in winter 2026. The cast includes Peter Falls, Michelle Ortiz, Robbie Arnett, Corbin Bernsen and others, while Deadline previously described the film as a graphic examination of toxic manosphere culture; the distribution deal was negotiated by Oscilloscope’s Aaron Katz and the producers on behalf of the filmmakers.
