SKUMLOVE Signs To CANDLEPOWER RECORDS, Shares New Single, ‘Blood And Roses’

Los Angeles industrial metal band SKUMLOVE has signed with Candlepower Records and is releasing its first single for the label: a cover of the Smithereens’ “Blood And Roses”. The move marks a new label chapter for the band, which says it wanted to reinterpret the song while preserving its original message.

The track was due to arrive on major digital platforms on 31 October 2026. Founding member Skum Love said the song’s themes of mental health and love resonated with him, and that it took years to develop his version. Kevin Kipnis produced and engineered it, with drums recorded at Saints In LA and mastering by Grammy-nominated engineer Maor Appelbaum. SKUMLOVE has spent more than two decades in the underground and toured with acts including Danzig, Ministry and Fear Factory.
