Slayyyter cancels UK and European tour dates due to illness

NME ·

Slayyyter has cancelled the remaining UK and European dates of her 2026 tour after doctors diagnosed her with laryngitis and vocal cord tears. She said she had been ordered to take medication and rest her voice for at least two weeks, and was cancelling to avoid permanent damage.

The cancelled shows included dates in Berlin, Manchester, Birmingham and Glasgow, followed by a London Roundhouse performance scheduled for 5 November. Slayyyter said full refunds would be available at the point of sale and that her team was exploring rescheduling the dates for next year. Support act Kalika said she had learned of the cancellations through Instagram and was stranded in Europe with her equipment on the tour bus.

In short

  • Slayyyter cancelled the rest of her UK and European tour due to vocal injuries.
  • Doctors ordered at least two weeks of medication and vocal rest.
  • Refunds are available; the team is considering rescheduling for next year.

Explained simply

Slayyyter is an American pop singer whose music and live shows have built her a following in the UK and Europe. A tour is a series of concerts in different cities, with performers and crew travelling between venues.

Laryngitis is inflammation of the voice box, which can make speaking or singing difficult. Vocal cord tears are injuries to the tissues that vibrate to produce sound; singers may need rest and treatment to protect their voices and ability to perform.

Concert cancellations affect ticket-holders, venues and the artists and crew involved. Kalika, the tour’s support act, said she was left in Europe with her equipment on the tour bus after learning of the cancellations.
