Sleaford Mods kicked off the opening night of Electric Castle 2026 in Romania with a set that included their recent Prodigy remix of "Elitist G.O.A.T." and a now-regular cover of Pet Shop Boys' "West End Girls". The Nottingham duo's appearance formed part of a lively first day at the festival, which also featured a headliner-calibre set from Kneecap, underlining the strength of this year's line-up beyond its bigger-name headliners.

The Prodigy's Acid Thunder remix closed out the hour-long show, leading into "Jobseeker", "Tied Up In Nottz" and "Tweet Tweet Tweet". Much of the set drew on this year's album "The Demise of Planet X", with "Megaton" and "No Touch" among the early highlights, while "Bad Santa" offered a more reflective moment referencing doomscrolling and the Tate Modern. Electric Castle 2026 runs from 16 to 20 July, with The Cure, Twenty One Pilots, Wet Leg, Teddy Swims and Chase & Status among the acts still to perform.
