Slipknot are developing a new album with producer Matt Wallace, according to guitarist Jim Root, who said the band has amassed a large amount of material. The update suggests the group is actively moving towards its next record, following recent comments that it may have several albums’ worth of ideas.

Root said the band has around 50 arrangements in various stages rather than 50 finished songs, and is revisiting ideas in an iterative process similar to that used for 2019’s ‘We Are Not Your Kind’. He described the new music as organic and recognisably Slipknot while sounding unusually fresh, with new drummer Eloy Casagrande contributing through extended live jams in a church rehearsal space.
