Slipknot guitarist Jim Root has urged fans not to accept reports that DJ and keyboardist Sid Wilson has left the band, after TMZ claimed Wilson had been permanently dismissed. Root’s Instagram message did not name Wilson directly, but appeared to address the speculation by telling people to wait for more information; Slipknot has not issued an official statement.

Wilson has been a longstanding member of the group, and no reason for the alleged split has been reported. The uncertainty comes while Slipknot are reportedly developing new music: drummer Eloy Casagrande said the band had substantial material, while Root said he had completed six arrangements for a potential album. Their most recent studio album was 2022’s ‘The End, So Far’, although they released the previously shelved ‘Look Outside Your Window’ this year.
