‘Slow Horses’ Star Reacts to the Season 6 Finale’s Action-Packed Beach Battle

DCS Emma Flyte, played by Ruth Bradley, dies in the sixth-season finale of *Slow Horses*, adding another loss to Slough House after the attack on Diana Taverner’s country house. Bradley says Flyte’s fate was decided before she filmed her first scene in Season 4, and knowing the character’s endpoint gave her room to shape Flyte’s development across the three seasons.

Bradley describes Flyte’s final portrayal as a more exposed, subdued version of the character, at home with alcohol and sadness rather than her usual work persona. She had wanted to bring back details of Flyte’s drinking from the books and earlier plans for the show, and discussed changing the character’s drinks in the finale.
