With Plans, users can set event details and invite up to 200 friends, with invitations featuring dynamic Bitmoji avatars that update as people respond. Invites are delivered through one-to-one chats, automatic reminders are sent ahead of each event, and a new "My Plans" tab on profiles lets users track both upcoming and past events. The launch comes as Snap faces challenges retaining users in key markets, making engagement-boosting features like this potentially important to the company's future, particularly while its parent is focused on hardware ventures such as smart eyewear.
