Snayx announce debut album ‘Greed’ and take on “manosphere misogynists” with scathing single ‘Gold Star’
Brighton alt-punk trio Snayx have announced their debut album, *Greed*, and released “Gold Star”, a scathing single aimed at online “manosphere” misogynists and self-styled lifestyle gurus. The 13-track record is due on 19 February and explores people’s desire for money, status, attention, possessions and love, while widening the band’s sound beyond punk.
“Gold Star” was co-written with Jordan Fish and criticises people who use displays of wealth and talk of hard work to seek approval. The album also addresses social media addiction, self-destructive behaviour and extreme wealth, blending industrial punk with electronica and psychedelia. Snayx will begin a UK headline tour in March, followed by European dates in May, ending in Oslo on 22 May.

Snayx are an alt-punk trio from Brighton, a city on England’s south coast. Punk is a style of rock often known for loud, direct music and rebellious themes; bands may also mix it with other sounds.
The term “manosphere” is used for online communities focused on men’s issues, some of which promote hostile views about women. The phrase “lifestyle guru” describes someone who presents themselves as an expert on how to live or succeed, often through online advice.
The album’s title refers to greed, or a strong desire for more money or possessions. Its themes of status, attention and online habits connect to wider debates about how social media and displays of wealth shape people’s lives.
