‘SNL U.K.’ Weekend Update Takes Jab at Shane Gillis: ‘You Stupid F—ing C—’

“SNL U.K.” used its Weekend Update segment to criticise Shane Gillis, whose recent “Saturday Night Live” monologue drew backlash for remarks about women’s gym clothing and an on-air swear word. Co-host Ania Magliano paired a joke about protective cycling shorts at Munich Oktoberfest with a photograph of Gillis, then mocked his use of language that breaches NBC’s broadcast guidelines.

The article says Gillis joked that women wearing brightly coloured gym shorts looked like “whores” and that people were not allowed to look at them. Magliano’s closing line deliberately used the same swear word Gillis had said, while pointing out that “SNL U.K.” is permitted to swear on air; the segment also covered other topics, including claims about King Charles.
