‘SNL’: Watch The Strokes Perform ‘Lonely in the Future,’ ‘Going Shopping’

The Strokes made their fifth appearance as musical guests on Saturday Night Live, performing “Lonely in the Future” and “Going Shopping” from their latest album, Reality Awaits. Walton Goggins, who appeared in the video for “Going Shopping”, joined the band on bongo drums.

Reality Awaits is a nine-track album produced by Rick Rubin, who first recorded with the band in Costa Rica in 2022; some additional sessions took place at his studios in California. The SNL appearance followed the North American and European leg of the band’s tour, with dates in Mexico, South America and Australia ahead. Guitarist Nick Valensi was absent from the performance after taking a temporary break from the tour.
