‘SNL’ Writer Jimmy Fowlie Pays Tribute to Sister Christina Downer After Police Arrest Two for Her Murder

“Saturday Night Live” writer Jimmy Fowlie has remembered his sister, Christina Downer, in a birthday tribute, days after police announced two arrests in connection with her murder. He said the charges had brought some relief to the family and friends, and used the post to recall their bond and the humour they shared.

Fowlie posted a video from what he called their last moment together, at a cinema photo opportunity, describing Downer’s laughter and warmth. Downer was reported missing on 18 December 2025; police said her boyfriend, Delorean Bijon Brandon, and Kaylee Nicole Markowski were arrested on 29 October and identified as responsible for her murder, disposal of her body and concealment of their involvement. The investigation is ongoing, and the case is due to be presented to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office for consideration.
