Asus has warned customers that unauthorised access to part of its eShop resulted in the exposure of customer contact details and order records. The company confirmed that no payment card information or financial data were compromised and has found no evidence of the stolen information being misused or causing customer harm. This incident is significant because the exposed contact and order information could enable convincing phishing attacks targeting Asus customers.

Asus has not disclosed how many customers are affected, when the intrusion occurred, or how long the attacker had access to systems. The company has contained the incident and introduced additional security measures, with its investigation ongoing and no evidence of continued unauthorised access found. This represents Asus's second security incident in recent months, following a December breach of a supplier that resulted in 1 TB of data being stolen. Asus has not publicly commented on the incident beyond its customer email notification, and the breach remains unmentioned on its eShop.
