Sonos’ Ace Ultra headphones are a follow-up to the company’s troubled first-generation Ace, adding stronger sound, improved active noise cancellation and longer battery life. Their most significant change is Wi-Fi-based “headphone linking”, which lets them operate more like a full Sonos device by receiving audio from compatible speakers and sending playback back to them.

The design is largely unchanged, with the headphones slightly larger and heavier and available in new colours. Internal upgrades include 10 microphones, adaptive ANC and EQ, expanded three- or eight-band equaliser controls, and up to 35 hours of battery life—around five hours more than before. The battery is user-replaceable, but headphone linking must be initiated through the Sonos app and does not support sources such as Apple Music over AirPlay.
