Sony appears to be testing a “Wallet Credit” cashback scheme for selected digital PS5 purchases, potentially offering PlayStation Store credit after checkout. The trial could encourage repeat digital spending and make Sony’s shift away from physical games more acceptable, although the company has not officially announced it.
The feature has reportedly appeared for some US users buying games including The Blood of Dawnwalker, Halloween, Star Wars Zero Company, Metal Gear Solid Master Collection Vol. 2 and Hot Wheels: Infinite Rush. One reported purchase earned $10 in credit, but availability is inconsistent and an associated Wallet Credit app cannot currently be downloaded, suggesting the scheme remains experimental.
