Helldivers 2 has attracted more than 22.9 million players since its 2024 launch, making it one of PlayStation’s most-played games and a major success for Sony’s live-service ambitions. Its performance matters because Sony’s broader push into live-service games has otherwise delivered few comparable successes outside established franchises.

The total covers players on PS5, PC and Xbox Series X|S, and was recorded before the game joined PS Plus Extra, which could push it beyond 25 million players. Arrowhead is continuing to update the game with a Warhammer 40K warbond and the ‘Devoid of Liberty’ campaign, while Sony plans a film adaptation for release on 10 November 2027.
