KATSEYE member Sophia has announced a hiatus to prioritise her mental health, becoming the second member of the group to step back this year after Manon’s temporary break in February. The decision affects the group as it prepares for a new EP, television appearance and sold-out tour, while its label says Sophia’s recovery will take precedence.

Sophia said she was heartbroken to miss performances but needed to protect her mind and body for the long term, and thanked fans for their patience. HYBE UMG said medical professionals had advised extended rest and ongoing care, with a reassessment planned for September; KATSEYE’s EP Wild is due on 14 August and its WILDWORLD TOUR begins on 1 September.
