The dispute follows heated clashes between transgender-rights activists and Cunningham's supporters outside an arena in Minneapolis. Speaking to reporters on Wednesday, Cunningham said "all we ever do is cover everything except basketball," expressing frustration that attention has been diverted from the sport towards political and social controversies surrounding the league.
