Insomniac Games has released an update for Marvel's Spider-Man 2 to coincide with the new "Brand New Day" film, adding enhanced PS5 Pro visuals, two new free suits, and a Power Saver mode. The patch continues Sony's pattern of revisiting older PS5 titles with upgraded technical support, following a similar update recently applied to Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered, and helps keep the two-and-a-half-year-old game visually competitive on current hardware.

Patch 1.0005 brings PSSR2, an improved AI upscaling technology, to PS5 Pro owners, building on the game's existing enhanced support to boost resolution. It also introduces a Power Saver mode, widely believed to be preparation for the game eventually running on a rumoured PS6 handheld, alongside two free cosmetic additions: the Fresh Start suit from the new film and a suit tied to the upcoming Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls game.
