Variety reported the figure was reached on the film's 31 July premiere date, an $11 million improvement on Endgame's day-one haul. Preview screenings alone brought in $72 million, also beating Endgame's $60 million preview total, while Sony expects the film to reach between $325 million and $358 million by the end of its opening weekend, potentially eclipsing Endgame's $357 million weekend record. The film arrives amid a strong year for blockbusters, following billion-dollar runs for The Super Mario Galaxy Movie, the Michael Jackson biopic Michael and Toy Story 5, and a robust opening for Christopher Nolan's The Odyssey.
