Spotify announce ‘Hometown’ run of gigs with Jorja Smith, Nemzzz and Beabadoobee

NME · 2 hours ago

Spotify is hosting a series of intimate, invitation-only concerts in which three artists perform in their home cities during September. The events are restricted to each performer's most engaged listeners on the platform, with no traditional ticket sales. Concert films will later be made available exclusively through Spotify.

The performances are timed to coincide with significant album releases from all three artists—Jorja Smith's third record arriving in late August, Nemzzz and Beabadoobee launching theirs in early and mid-September respectively. Beyond the gigs themselves, Spotify plans to collaborate with each artist on community initiatives designed to support emerging musicians in their respective hometowns.

  • Spotify launching exclusive 'Hometown' concert series in September featuring Jorja Smith (Walsall), Nemzzz (Manchester), and Beabadoobee (London), open only to each artist's top listeners
  • Shows coincide with three new album releases and Spotify-backed community programmes supporting young musicians in each city
