Spotify rolls out new personalized running features for Premium users

Engadget · 3 hours ago

Spotify has introduced Running Mode, a personalised music feature for Premium subscribers in the United States using its iOS app. The move expands Spotify’s fitness offering and revives a similar tempo-based running feature that the company discontinued in 2018, reflecting continued demand for workout-focused playlists.

Users can select from 25 workout and music presets or customise sessions by workout type, duration, BPM matching and optional motivational audio cues. Spotify says it will generate playlists with transitions designed to match the runner’s pace; the launch follows its recent Peloton partnership and guided workout classes for Premium members.
