Spotify team up with Reading & Leeds 2026 to help fans discover new favourite artists

NME · 1 hour ago

Reading & Leeds 2026 has partnered with Spotify to launch a new in-app feature that helps festivalgoers discover artists on the line-up suited to their musical taste. Announced just over two weeks before the festival, the tool analyses users' listening history to recommend acts and generate personalised playlists, aiming to make the sprawling bill feel more tailored to individual fans ahead of the event.

The feature, live from 11 August, identifies the five artists on the line-up best matching a user's taste, shows a percentage compatibility score against the wider bill, and builds a bespoke playlist accordingly; it will remain available until the festival weekend. It marks the first phase of a broader Spotify–Reading & Leeds partnership, with further plans including an official playlist and on-site content. This year's event runs from 27–30 August across Little John's Farm in Reading and Bramham Park in Leeds, headlined by Florence + The Machine, Charli XCX, Fontaines D.C., Dave, RAYE and Chase & Status, alongside a major staging overhaul including a revamped Main Stage ("The Grid") and new stages, and the axing of the long-running BBC Introducing Stage.
