Spurs agree £75m deal to sign Man City’s Savinho

BBC Sport · 3 hours ago

Tottenham Hotspur have agreed a £75m deal, with a further £10m in potential add-ons, to sign Manchester City winger Savinho, pending a medical. The 22-year-old Brazilian was a target for Spurs last summer but chose to stay at City, where his playing time was restricted under Pep Guardiola, limiting him to just seven Premier League starts last season. The move continues a major summer spending spree for head coach Roberto de Zerbi, who has already added midfielders Mateus Fernandes and Sandro Tonali.

Savinho's signing will push Tottenham's summer outlay beyond £300m, though around £140m has been recouped through the sales of Cristian Romero, Djed Spence and Luka Vuskovic. Spurs are also reportedly in positive talks for City's Omar Marmoush and remain interested in Liverpool's Cody Gakpo, though funding all three deals may be difficult. Tottenham open their Premier League season away at Brentford on Saturday, while City host Bournemouth on Sunday.
