On 18 June, a 26-year-old motorist in Derbyshire initiated a high-speed chase after being spotted with a defective licence plate light. The driver accelerated to 80 miles per hour through residential areas designated for 30-40mph, failed to yield at junctions, and drove on the wrong side of the road before abandoning the vehicle to flee through fields.

Police dog Yolo and handler PC Andy Shaw pursued and apprehended the fleeing suspect, with body-camera footage capturing the driver pleading for help during the encounter. The motorist subsequently pleaded guilty to dangerous driving, driving without insurance, failing to stop for police, and operating a vehicle with exposed tyre damage. Sentencing is scheduled for 27 August at Chesterfield Magistrates' Court.
