Chicago-based artist Squirrel Flower (Ella Williams) has released a new song and video called "Cleveland", the latest single from her forthcoming album Say A Prayer To The Gods Of Getting Going. It follows earlier previews "Reelin'", "Not Me" and "Sick Tooth", continuing a steady rollout of material ahead of the record's release.

Williams has described "Cleveland" as being about choosing a city over a romantic interest, domesticity, and the pull of the Rust Belt city as a potential future site of climate migration. The track originated with her family band, "uncommon rat", and she credits her siblings with allowing her to repurpose it for her solo album; the accompanying Jackson James-directed video, inspired by an idea from her mother, follows a hitchhiking journey to Cleveland that shifts into a dreamlike domestic fantasy reminiscent of Desperately Seeking Susan. Say A Prayer To The Gods Of Getting Going is due out on 21 August via Polyvinyl.
