Staff at V&A East Storehouse in Stratford have voted overwhelmingly to take strike action, citing pay, conditions and what their union calls “Amazon-style” workplace practices. The vote raises the prospect of disruption at the recently opened site and adds pressure on the V&A to settle its wider dispute with staff.

According to Prospect, 100% of participating Storehouse staff backed strike action on turnout of almost 88%, while 92% supported action short of a strike. The union is seeking at least a 4% rise for staff paid above the living wage, enhanced bank-holiday pay, London Living Wage accreditation within a year, and better food provision at V&A East sites.
