Star Trek Officially Reveals Captain Kirk’s New Look for November 13 Release

Magic: The Gathering is releasing a special Star Trek card set to mark the franchise’s 60th anniversary, with Captain James T. Kirk among the characters depicted. William Shatner, who played Kirk, has praised the artwork, drawing attention to how the new cards bring the long-running series into the collectible card game.

In a video from producer Wizards of the Coast, Shatner reflects on Star Trek’s rise from what he calls a “moderately successful” television series to a phenomenon helped by devoted fans and syndicated reruns. He describes one card’s portrayal of him as “really romantic”. The set is due to reach shops on 13 November.
