‘Star Trek: Starfleet Academy’ Season 2 Casts Newcomer Ruaridh Aldington

Ruaridh Aldington has joined the second season of “Star Trek: Starfleet Academy” as a series regular, playing Keats, a young alien with a mysterious past. Announced at San Diego Comic-Con’s “Star Trek” 60th anniversary panel, the casting introduces a character whose arrival at the Academy puts him in danger after the cadets discover he is wanted.
The season is set after The Burn and follows a new cohort of cadets, while Holly Hunter returns as Commander Chancellor Nahla Ake and Paul Giamatti is expected back as Nus Braka. Aldington is a London-based performer whose previous credits include “Drained” and “Dirty Boy”; no release date has been announced, and season two will be the show’s final season.
