The cast and creators of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds discussed the show’s increasingly ambitious fourth season and their emotional response to reading the script for its fifth and final season at San Diego Comic-Con 2026. They said the finale represents a farewell to the Enterprise crew before the story moves closer to the era of Star Trek: The Original Series.

Season 4 will include unusually experimental elements for the franchise, including black-and-white noir, puppetry and Rebecca Romijn singing in Klingon. Stars including Anson Mount, Rebecca Romijn, Celia Rose Gooding, Ethan Peck and Paul Wesley reflected on filming the final season, while co-showrunners Akiva Goldsman and Henry Alonso Myers described Season 5 as a “meditation on how to say goodbye”.
