Penguin Random House imprint Ten Speed Press is releasing "Star Trek: The Original Voyages – A Visual History", a 416-page hardcover retrospective billed as a definitive resource for fans of the classic 1960s series. IGN has shared an exclusive preview of the book ahead of its November release, which arrives as the franchise marks its 60th anniversary and comes with a foreword from William Shatner, who played Captain Kirk.

Written by Kyle Newman and Jeff Bond, the book charts Star Trek's history from the original series' 1966 debut through 1991's "Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country", combining behind-the-scenes photographs, concept art and previously unpublished images with fresh interviews. It covers both the on-screen story of the USS Enterprise crew and creator Gene Roddenberry's own journey, alongside the wider legacy of a franchise that has spread into film, animation, novels, comics and games. The book is due for publication on 10 November 2026 and is available to preorder.
