‘Star Wars’ Officially Returns to Disney Plus Next Week with New Streaming Release
The Mandalorian and Grogu will begin streaming on Disney Plus on 2 September, returning Din Djarin and Grogu to the platform where their television story began. The release makes the film widely available after its cinema, digital and physical-media launches, and highlights Disney’s effort to extend a successful streaming franchise into cinemas.
The film opened in theatres on 22 May and earned $345 million worldwide, around 100 days before its Disney Plus debut. That total was well below the more than $1 billion taken by 2020’s The Rise of Skywalker, while critical reception was mixed to broadly positive; it is already available to buy digitally and on Blu-ray and DVD.
