Star Wars: Unlimited designer John Leo has highlighted The Stranger, a card based on the villain Qimir from Star Wars: The Acolyte, as one of the game's most underrated cards despite the current competitive meta favouring aggressive bounty hunter decks led by characters like Cad Bane and Boba Fett. Speaking at the 2026 Galactic Championship in Las Vegas, Leo said the Legendary card, designed by Joe O'Neill for the seventh set, A Lawless Time, creates uniquely explosive gameplay moments that most players are overlooking.

The Stranger has just 1 power and 7 HP but features the Grit keyword, gaining +1/+0 for every point of damage taken, alongside Ambush, which lets it attack immediately upon entering play. Combined with an ability that forces the opposing unit to strike first, this allows the card to inflict heavy, sudden bursts of damage. Its price of nearly $20 on TCG Player suggests it may not be entirely under the radar, and its popularity could shift further when Unlimited's ninth set, Homeworlds, launches on 9 October.
