StarCraft 2 patch includes the biggest change since 2015’s Legacy of the Void, fans say: “What are they doing in Anaheim?”

GamesRadar+ ·

Blizzard has released a StarCraft 2 balance patch that cuts the Terran Command Center’s cost, prompting strong concern from parts of the competitive community. Players and commentators argue that the change could substantially strengthen Terran play throughout matches, making it one of the game’s most consequential alterations since the 2015 Legacy of the Void expansion.

Command Centers now cost 300 minerals rather than 400, while providing 15 supply; by comparison, Supply Depots cost 100 minerals. Blizzard said the patch was based on player data and feedback, but commentator Harstem described it as an exceptionally large Terran buff, and some fans expect the adjustment to be reversed or reduced after its effects become clear.

  • Terran Command Centers now cost 25% fewer minerals.
  • Fans fear the change could upset StarCraft 2’s balance.
  • Some players expect Blizzard to revise the patch.
