Starlink has two $55 plans that are wildly different — here’s how

Engadget ·

Starlink’s entry-level Residential and Roam plans both cost $55 a month, but offer different trade-offs for fixed homes and people who travel. Choosing between them depends on whether unlimited data or faster high-speed data while on the move matters more.

Residential provides unlimited data at up to 100 Mbps, suitable for a small household’s browsing, streaming and gaming. Roam provides up to 300 Mbps but caps high-speed data at 100GB per month, after which speeds slow considerably; higher Roam tiers offer 300GB for $80 or unlimited data for $175 monthly. Speeds may fall during busy periods, and both plans include a 30-day refund trial.

  • Residential costs $55 for unlimited data at up to 100 Mbps.
  • Roam costs $55 for 100GB at up to 300 Mbps.
  • Choose based on whether you need a fixed home connection or travel access.
