Slayblade, a Beyblade-inspired arcade roguelite, is launching on Steam after attracting attention during Steam Next Fest. The game combines spinning-top battles with progression systems and is notable for turning a nostalgic playground pastime into a low-cost, quirky video game experience.

Players control a custom spinning disc in arena battles by dragging it with the mouse to sustain momentum, collect power-ups and defeat opponents. Victories earn cash for upgrades and new parts, while the game is set in a small town where residents challenge the player; it releases on Thursday 20 August for $6.
