SteelSeries has announced two wireless gaming mice: the ergonomic Rival Pro and the ambidextrous Sensei Pro. Their lightweight designs, replaceable batteries and ultra-wideband connection aim to improve convenience and wireless performance, while new software features offer more control over polling and sensitivity.

Both models weigh 53 grams in black, or 54 grams in white, and use battery pucks that last up to 16 hours at an 8,000Hz polling rate or 60 hours at 1,000Hz. SteelSeries says UWB provides 20 times the bandwidth of typical 2.4GHz connections. The mice cost $179 each and are available to preorder ahead of an October 13 launch; smaller versions, four grams lighter, are also planned at the same price.
