Stef Chura Recruits Peter Buck, Mike Mills for New Album
Detroit indie rocker Stef Chura is releasing her first album in seven years, marking a notable return for the singer-songwriter after an extended hiatus. Dancing Alone on the Concrete, out 2 October on Saddle Creek, draws added attention thanks to guest contributions from R.E.M.'s Peter Buck and Mike Mills on the lead single "Danny."
The nine-track album was produced throughout by Robert Schneider, co-founder of Apples in Stereo and producer of Neutral Milk Hotel's In the Aeroplane Over the Sea. Chura has described "Danny" as inspired by a fleeting real-life encounter with someone passing through New Orleans, reflecting on a missed chance for connection. She will support the release by joining Dinosaur Jr. on tour for a run of opening dates.
