Stellantis, the parent company of Jeep, Chrysler, Dodge, Ram, Fiat, Peugeot and Citroën, has announced it will use Intel-owned Mobileye's technology to power Level 2 hands-free driving assistance across its vehicle brands from 2027. The move sees Stellantis join a broader industry push towards more advanced driver assist systems, which offer both safety benefits and convenience while also generating valuable subscription and software revenue, with the sector's earnings forecast to reach $90 billion over the next decade.

The deal will see Stellantis adopt Mobileye's EyeQ system-on-a-chip alongside its Road Experience Management (REM) programme, which crowdsources real-time data from equipped vehicles to build a global 3D map, enabling hands-free, eyes-on driving and lane-keeping on unmarked roads in certain conditions. Stellantis has not yet confirmed which of its brands will receive the technology, and already offers a more limited Hands-Free Active Driving Assist system in some Jeep and Ram models. Mobileye said the partnership brings it to five of the world's ten largest automakers, with REM now covering over 95% of public roads in the US and Europe using data from more than eight million vehicles that logged 34 billion miles last year; the company reported $558 million in first-quarter 2026 revenue, up 27% year-on-year.
