Neurosis vocalist and guitarist Steve Von Till has discussed the band's return in a new interview with The Vinyl Guide podcast, marking their first new album in a decade. The California sludge/post-metal veterans released "An Undying Love For A Burning World" in March 2026 via Neurot Recordings, following years of uncertainty after quietly parting ways with co-founder Scott Kelly in 2019 over domestic abuse allegations he later admitted to.

The current line-up features Von Till, drummer Jason Roeder, bassist Dave Edwardson and keyboardist Noah Landis, joined by Aaron Turner of Sumac and Isis, whom the band credit with helping them find new creative direction. Von Till said the four remaining members reconvened at the end of 2024 and immediately felt the pull to keep making music together, bringing in Turner early the following year. He also linked the band's revival to his work with Firekeeper Alliance, a nonprofit he sits on the board of that uses heavy music alongside traditional healing methods to support mental health and suicide prevention on Montana's Blackfeet Reservation.
