Steven Yeun to Topline ‘Pagans’ Drama at Netflix

The Hollywood Reporter · 3 hours ago

Steven Yeun, the Emmy-winning star of Beef and Oscar nominee for Minari, has been cast to lead a new Netflix drama series titled Pagans, created by Joshua Zetumer of FX's Say Nothing. Yeun will also serve as an executive producer on the show, marking his return to series television at the streamer. The project stands out for having sparked a competitive multi-outlet bidding war before Netflix secured it with a straight-to-series order.

Pagans began as a spec script from Zetumer and is described as a supernatural drama following Gus, a father who becomes sole carer for his two children after his wife's death; while his son is ordinary, his daughter Alice proves far from it, turning a strained father-daughter bond into something more sinister. Zetumer will act as showrunner, with fellow executive producers including Drew Goddard, Sarah Esberg, Jonathan van Tulleken, Erica Kay, and Yeun's producing partner Christina Oh. Yeun's other upcoming work includes Netflix film Animals alongside Ben Affleck and Kerry Washington, and he continues to voice the lead in Prime Video's Invincible.
