Stevie Nicks has paid tribute to Dolly Parton following Parton’s death, recalling their time recording together in Nashville for Parton’s 2023 album Rockstar. Nicks described the collaboration as the “best week ever” and said Parton’s example offered a masterclass in music-making, underscoring Parton’s influence across country, rock and popular music.

The pair recorded “What Has Rock and Roll Ever Done for You”, a song originally written for Fleetwood Mac and included as the ninth track on Rockstar. Parton died aged 80, prompting tributes from artists including Beyoncé, Taylor Swift, Paul McCartney, Miley Cyrus and Jack White, as well as all living US presidents.
