Blabbermouth has reviewed "Still," the sixth studio album from German folk metal band Finsterforst, awarding it 8.5/10. Released seven years after their acclaimed 2019 record "Zerfall," the new album is praised as a refinement rather than a repeat of that predecessor's ambitious approach, and is described as the strongest work of the band's 22-year career.

The album runs roughly 78 minutes across seven original tracks plus two covers (Immortal's "Beyond the North Waves" and Pink Floyd's "Another Brick in the Wall Pt. II"), and closes with the 24-minute epic "Leere," which the reviewer rates as surpassing the band's previous long-form centrepiece, "Ecce Homo." Guitarist Simon Käflein is singled out for driving the album's songwriting, while vocalist Oliver Berlin's performance is highlighted for its emotional depth, with individual tracks such as "Obduktion," "Im Wind" and "Stille Nacht" cited as standout moments blending folk metal with progressive and melodic death metal elements.
