STONE TEMPLE PILOTS’ DEAN DELEO Is ‘Very Grateful’ For JEFF GUTT: The ‘Peace Of Mind’ That He Brings To The Band Is ‘Immeasurable’

Stone Temple Pilots guitarist Dean DeLeo said he is deeply grateful to singer Jeff Gutt, whose reliability gives the band “immeasurable” peace of mind. DeLeo said choosing a new frontman required finding someone who understood songs and could contribute strong lyrics, after the group had endured years of upheaval.

Gutt joined in 2017 after a search that attracted about 15,000 hopefuls; he made his recording debut on the band’s 2018 self-titled album. DeLeo also discussed One More Satellite, his project with British vocalist Pete Shoulder: its second album is expected in January, with a single planned for November or December, and a third album has already been recorded.
