Stranger Things star Jamie Campbell Bower listened to Sleep Token to prep for his new Lord Of The Rings TV role
Jamie Campbell Bower says he listened repeatedly to Sleep Token’s “Euclid” while preparing to play the elf Celeborn in the third season of The Lord Of The Rings: The Rings Of Power. He said the song’s lyrics about nature and trees felt suited to the character, showing how music can help shape his approach to a role.
Co-star Maxim Baldry described his own character, Isildur, as a “black metal kinda guy” and joked that Sauron might favour Bon Jovi. Bower previously used extreme metal by bands including Sunn O))), Mayhem and Darkthrone to prepare for Vecna in Stranger Things; he also released a cover of “Euclid” last year. The new season is due to stream on Amazon Prime from 11 November.
In short
- Bower used Sleep Token’s “Euclid” to prepare for Celeborn.
- The song’s nature imagery felt right for the elf.
- The Rings Of Power season three arrives on 11 November.
